Attraction Pt 2

Genesis 39:10 “And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.” Joseph refused to listen to her. Day after day, when you get this type of attention and you find yourself in this kind of situation, do what Joseph did. We need to identify it when it starts. Vs 11 “And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.” When you notice these things about attraction and chemistry between you and someone else, do not create an environment where you’ll be alone with them. Don’t allow it to happen. Avoid it. Vs 12 “And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.” Usually such people are calculating. They know when, how and what to do. Why was Joseph interesting to Potiphar wife? Given the fame, riches and the kind of physical build that Potiphar must have had as the captain of the guard of Pharaoh. She must have been lonely. Potiphar must have been carried away with his work. We need to make out time for our spouse. We need to set our priorities right - God first, your spouse next, your children, then your ministry. When our priorities are misaligned, we will be neglecting those closest to us and making excuses, creating loopholes in our family life, our homes and the lives of those around us. This makes the enemy take advantage of us. Eve was in the garden by herself...where was Adam? Sometimes we can get so carried away in doing things that we forget the needs of those around us.
