AC Burgess was born in Red Bank, N.J. where he was raised and educated. As a  young man, he apprenticed for Master Craftsmen-Shomo and participated in the performing arts under the Direction of Judith Holten and Sun Ra Band Leader, Marshall Allen. Upon graduation from High School, he attended the Academy of Culinary Arts in May’s Landing New Jersey. From there he traveled to Europe several times as well as Brazil, Eastern Europe, and eventually, the Caribbean. His many college years were spent in New Jersey, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
