For all realistic purposes for the Auburn Tigers, the 2018 season’s hopes to contend for the SEC well into November went up in smoke in a miserable performance in Starkville last Saturday night, as the Tigers lost 23-9. The heat level on head coach Gus Malzahn, including from his own fan base, is palpable, as almost no noticeable improvement has occurred with the offense now six games into the season. Showing some progress, and delivering a win over first year VOLS head coach Jeremy Pruitt can be fairly called desperately needed.
