The offense only scored 17 points. There were questionable decisions, missed opportunities and moments that probably reminded fans of frustrating Auburn teams from the past. But there is a massive difference between identifying problems that need to be corrected and deciding after one game that the entire season is doomed. Game one does not define a season. Auburn has seen that lesson play out before. Teams can look great in an opener and struggle later. They can also struggle early, make adjustments and become dramatically better as the season develops. The question is not whether Auburn was perfect against Baylor. It clearly wasn't.
