Chicago remains hit package from The Mountain-Ear archives, Volume 7, Number 47, August 31, 1984." Chicago 17 comes to the record stores and radio stations showing Chicago’s consistent talent. And it is no wonder with seven of the original eight members intact. It is no secret that the golden age of their recording came through the production talents of James William Guercio, owner of Caribou Ranch. He produced their first 12 albums, all of which went platinum, the first five recorded in New York City, the latter five produced and recorded at Caribou Ranch. There were two “greatest hits” collections in there as well. The Guercio-produced albums generated a dozen hit songs, including “Saturday In The Park” and "If You Leave Me Now,” which both went to number one on the charts.
