August 11 – Be a Doer

In today’s episode, Pastor Brandon Dirmann shares a devotion from John 13:15–17, where Jesus tells His disciples that He has given them an example so they can do as He has done. Pastor Brandon reminds listeners that following Jesus is about much more than listening to His teaching, gathering biblical information, or being inspired by His words. Jesus invites us to imitate Him—to actually walk in His ways and become more like Him. He says that the blessing is not simply in knowing what He taught, but in doing it. This challenges us to examine whether there are things we already know from Scripture but have not yet put into practice, or areas where God has clearly spoken but we have not obeyed. The goal of spending time in God's Word is transformation, not merely information. As we daily ask Jesus to show us His ways and the Holy Spirit to empower us to follow His example, we become not only hearers of the Word but doers who increasingly reflect Christ in our everyday lives.Today's Reading:August 11 – Lamentations 3–5; John 13
