August 12 – The Way, the Truth, and the Life

In today’s episode, Pastor Cory Barnes shares a devotion from John 14:6, where Jesus declares, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Jesus does not present Himself as simply one option among many—He is the only way to the Father, the source of truth, and the source of both abundant and eternal life. While this may be a foundational truth of the Christian faith, Pastor Cory reminds listeners how easily we can lose sight of it in everyday life. The enemy continually offers counterfeits, tempting us to trust in our own goodness for righteousness, believe voices that contradict God's Word, or look to possessions, circumstances, and other things to provide the fulfilling life only Jesus can give. Even trials can reveal places where we have unknowingly begun relying on something alongside Christ. Rather than simply seeing those moments as difficulties, we can allow them to expose the things competing for our trust and draw us back to Jesus. He does not need anything standing beside Him to complete what He provides. As we recognize and tear down those substitutes, we can cling more tightly to Jesus as our only way, our unchanging truth, and the source of our life.Today's Reading:August 12 – Daniel 1–2; John 14
