August 14 – My Helper, the Holy Spirit

In today’s episode, Pastor Robert Rosales shares a devotion from John 16:7, where Jesus tells His disciples that it is actually to their advantage that He goes away because He will send them the Holy Spirit. Facing Jesus’ departure, the disciples were filled with sorrow, but Jesus assured them they would not be left alone. Pastor Robert explores the word parakletos, translated as Helper or Advocate, which carries the idea of someone called alongside to help, counsel, comfort, strengthen, and intercede. Jesus’ physical departure would make way for the Holy Spirit to dwell within His followers and accompany them wherever they went. That same promise is true for believers today. We do not have to face situations believing we are alone, incapable, or without direction. The presence of Jesus is with us through the Holy Spirit, who is available to provide wisdom, guidance, strength, comfort, and help. Pastor Robert encourages listeners to intentionally lean into the Holy Spirit throughout everyday life, inviting Him into the situations where we feel overwhelmed or unsure and remembering that our Helper is always with us.Today's Reading:August 14 – Ezekiel 4–6; John 16
