AUGUST 17: More Flooding, ODOT on Post-Flood Repairs, Buckeyes are Back, and Daveonte Dixon Sentenced

(4:46-7:00) Daveonte Dixon Sentencing Preview While we wait on the sentencing hearing to start: In May 2025, Daveonte Dixon shot two Mifflin Township Police officers during a traffic stop. The two officers survived their injuries. Dixon pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder and five counts of felonious assault in June. (7:00-9:44) Severe Weather Weekend More severe weather rolled through Ohio over the weekend. The heavy rain prompted more evacuations. New Lexington Fire told 10TV more than three dozen people had to be rescued from flood waters in Perry County. Franklin County First Assistant Prosecutor Sheryl Pritchard and John Litle III, attorney for one of the victims, make the case for a more severe sentence for Dixon. Adam Cain, Dixon's defense attorney, speaks for more than half an hour to make a case on why the sentence should be less severe. *The sentencing continued past the end of the podcast.
