AUGUST 19: Property Tax Relief, Columbus City Schools Deficit, Flock Camera Vandalism, and Maternal Mental Health

(1:55-6:00) Columbus City Schools Deficit Update Tuesday night, the Columbus City Schools treasurer provided an update to the district's five-year forecast. The district is projecting a $53 million deficit this fiscal year. That's less than the $59 million predicting back in February. However, the district expects the deficit to grow to $157 million by 2031. The district has made cuts to staff, transportation, and school buildings to try and right the budget and now there are talks of going to voters for a new tax.  (6:00-10:35) Flock Camera Vandalism Flock cameras continue to be a hotly contested topic not just in central Ohio, but nationwide. The village of Hebron had three cameras vandalized recently and the police chief says he won't be intimidated into taking them down. Surrounding communities have also reported damage. Nationwide, people have turned to cutting them down, spray painting the lenses or covering them up to send their message.  (10:47-16:20) 97.1 The Fan's Tyvis Powell Buckeye football is getting closer and closer. (16:35-22:29) Property Tax Relief with Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano Damage caused by last week's severe weather may qualify homeowners for temporary property tax relief. How much of a reduction you get depends on the amount of damage you have and it does require some paperwork. Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano joins the conversation about how to seek this help.  (23:00-33:34) Maternal Mental Health Lindsay Clancy, 36 of Plymouth, Massachusetts, is facing three counts of murder after she was accused of killing her three children. The case has put a spotlight on maternal mental health, especially post-partum depression. Tonya Fulwider, the Executive Director of Mental Health America of Ohio, talks wtih Bryn and Collin about resources available to mothers struggling with life after birth.  (34:04-42:38) Red Cross Blood Drive and Another Driver Stops in the Interstate It's the 10TV Blood Drive in collaboration with 97.1 The Fan, the Red Cross, and Chick-fil-a.
