August 20 - Faith Diagnostics
from The KJD Devotional Podcast Hosted by Dr Olujide Arije
Many times, many people wonder why their faith is not ‘working’ when they do not receive what they desired in prayer. Well, you need to be sure that what you have called your faith is authentic. On this, there are a few points I want you to put to mind: 1. If you are not sure you are in faith, it is not likely that you are. Faith is not an assumption. You are either in faith or not in faith. Though faith is in size, true faith is always complete and stands by itself. It does not matter how big or small your faith is as long as it is pure, i.e., devoid of doubt. 2. If it is not based on God’s word, then it couldn’t be faith, even as Rom 10:17 says: “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. 3. Very closely aligned with the above is that faith in God is necessarily based on specific revelation and personal knowledge of (not merely awareness of) the Word of God. Passive assent to the Word cannot bring faith. There must be an active and personal engagement with the Word just as Jesus said in John 11:40 “Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” To get a daily devotional reading on your phone please join our Telegram Channel: https://t.me/kjddevotional
