AUGUST 21: Post-Partum Depression, Columbus Housing Market Tops $350,000, Evacuation Orders for Flooding, and Football Friday Night

(1:40-9:23) Buckeye Lake evacuated and I-70 Closed Due to Flooding Thursday's rain not only made for the second wettest August on record, but it's also prompted multiple evacuation orders in Licking County and has a large portion of I-70 shut down until the water recedes. Median home prices topped $350,000 while the region had the highest July inventory in more than a decade. Gloria Alonso-Cannon, President of the Columbus Realtors Association, talks about what's driving buyers and is there any hope for a break in housing prices.  (26:09-37:07) Maternal Mental Health Conversation  We continue our conversation from earlier in the week about maternal mental health and a focus on post-partum depression and psychosis. According to the Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health, the mental health of US mothers has worsened in the past decade. Between 2016 and 2023, there was a 65% increase in mothers reporting "fair to poor mental health." Also, 20% of maternal deaths in the US are due to suicide, according to the CDC. Dr. Tamar Gur, a Maternal-Fetal Psychiatrist at the OSU Wexner Medical Center, joins the conversation about the signs and resources available to mothers who might be struggling.  (37:22-45:47) Shannon Hardin Announces Mayoral Run For the first time, Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther is facing a challenger from his own party. Columbus City Council President Shannon Hardin announced a run for mayor Thursday. When he assumed the Council President role in 2018, he was the youngest person and the first openly gay person to do so. Hardin sat down with 10TV's Yolanda Harris to talk about why he thinks he's fit to run the city.  (46:02-49:21) USA Today Releases Top 25 Party Schools No Ohio school made the top 10, but three of them made the top 25.
