St. André Bessette spent 40 years answering a college door in Montreal — and thousands came seeking a miracle. Orphaned and sickly as a child, André Bessette worked as the doorkeeper at Collège Notre-Dame for four decades, praying with the sick who came to him and pointing them to St. Joseph. So many were healed that the Church investigated — and the resulting devotion built the Oratory of St. Joseph, now the largest church in Canada. André always deflected the credit. "I do not cure.
