I have to admit here that I struggle with the concept that God hardened Pharaoh’s heart and then dealt harshly with the Egyptians. I know they certainly had done many horrible things to the Israelites and certainly deserved God’s punishment, but I still don’t understand why it seems tied here to God hardening Pharaoh’s heart rather than their past actions. What I do know is that God is perfect and when He does something He certainly has His reasons. I know He loves us all, so I completely trust Him, even when I don’t understand Him. Why do you think God hardened Pharaoh’s heart? What purpose do you think it served in this “battle of the wills” we are witnessing?
