The final component of this series focuses on our honesty and integrity in relationships. As Proverbs 10:9 says, “People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed.” When faced with difficult situations, awkward confrontations, or hurt feelings, the easiest path to walk is to lie. We so often act as if things are fine in one context but rage, gossip, and complain in another. What might it look like to speak honestly about our feelings with those who hurt us, to own our own mistakes, and to seek forgiveness whenever possible? This type of Christlike attitude could very well bring healing into not just our own lives, but the lives of others as well.
