Austin Simmons Steps Into Missouri QB Spotlight

Austin Simmons, the former Ole Miss QB and four-star recruit, is poised to lead the Missouri Tigers offense in 2026 — but can he rise to the occasion? With just six games under his belt in the SEC and never having been a full-time starter, Simmons brings flashes of potential but also questions about his decision-making and deep-ball accuracy. Facing a struggling passing game and a roster that needs chemistry, he’ll rely on a talented cast around him — including receivers Donovan Olugbode and Cayden Lee, tight end Brett Norfleet, and a dynamic RB duo of Ahmad Hardy and Jamal Roberts. With head coach Eli Drinkwitz counting on him to elevate Missouri’s offense, Simmons’ success could define the Tigers’ season — and maybe even their future.
