Australian lung imaging breakthrough approved for local use
from 7News Just In · host LiSTNR
Australian company 4D Medical has received regulatory approval for CT-VQ, a world-first lung imaging technology that analyses routine CT scans to show both lung structure and function without requiring injections, dyes or extra procedures. The software, which took 21 years to develop, is already used at facilities including the Mayo Clinic in Europe and America, and can help diagnose emphysema, unexplained shortness of breath and other complex lung conditions. The technology works as a software upgrade to existing CT scanners, allowing widespread implementation across Australian hospitals and clinics without replacing equipment.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
