Australia’s faux two-party system, and why we need to crack it open

Jennifer and Jacques look at Australia’s fake two-party system of government (which has no formal or legal basis), and why we need to break out of it.    This is especially relevant in the run-up to the federal election, with Liberals becoming increasingly hysterical as independents gain favour in their electorates.    If no political party gains a majority in the House of Representatives (without agreement with independents or minor parties), this may bring hope for real change on issues like climate change and government corruption.     Resources:Preferential voting explained hereFind your electorate hereFind your candidates here
