Authentic - Prayer – Tim Maton
from Everyday Church Sermons Hosted by Everyday Church
What does authentic prayer really look like? In this message, Tim takes us into the Garden of Gethsemane and explores Jesus’ deeply honest prayer before the cross. Using Jesus’ example, discover four essential characteristics of REAL prayer: Relational, Emotionally honest, Asking, and Listening. Authentic prayer means bringing our whole selves before God, being honest about our emotions and failings, asking our loving Father for what we need, and learning to listen for His voice and discern His will. From personal prayer to praying with others, discover how prayer can become a genuine relationship with God rather than simply a religious duty. Through Scripture, the Holy Spirit and honest conversation with God, we can learn to pray with greater freedom, faith and authenticity. Listen to the full message and discover how you can make your prayer life more REAL.
