Being AUTHENTIC is important! In fact, it is a crucial part of any positive, productive relationship (whether professional or personal). Without authenticity, there can be no trust. Authenticity makes it possible for people to get to know us deeply and for everyone to know (including ourselves) what can be expected of us. Unfortunately, very often we also HIDE behind authenticity. When we misinterpret or misunderstand what authenticity is, we can end up using it more as a veil to hide behind rather than a tool for connection.
