Ally Burguieres is an artist, designer, and inventor specializing in popular and conceptual pieces. She has shown work in Brazil, England, France, Germany, Ireland, and the US. She currently teaches Media Arts at Tulane University and holds a PhD for her writing and research on art and media in everyday life.In addition to her artistic work, she is also a wildlife rehabber and the creator of the viral Sesame the Opossum website and social media accounts, home of the internet’s most beloved opossums. In addition to wrangling opossums, she owns Cocoally (an animal-themed boutique) and Gallery Burguieres (a gallery of her artwork) in New Orleans.-Ally's new book When in Doubt, Play Dead: Life Advice from an Unexpected Source (bookshop.org)(available Oct 17, 2023) is a totally adorable gift of a book that offers wisdom and insight from a delightfully unexpected source: the opossum.
