Authored Live: Dania Bdeir on writing WARSHA | The Arts Club Dubai

Warsha is Sundance Film Festival’s 2022 winner of The Short Film Jury Award for best International Fiction.  Written and directed by Syrian/Lebanese Dania Bdeir this incredible 16 minute short film follows the story of Mohammad, a Syrian crane operator in Beirut. One day, he volunteers to take on one of the tallest and notoriously most dangerous cranes in Lebanon. Away from everyone’s eyes, he is able to live out his secret passion. Listen in on the intimate conversation led by Stavros Antypas with director Dania Bdeir which followed a private screening of the film at The Arts Club Dubai. She shares her extraordinary 4 year journey into making this ambitious film a reality. The members of The Arts Club Dubai concluded their evening with a surprise performance by KHANSA, the lead actor from the film.
