For the 59th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia 2022, the National Pavilion UAE presented a major new work by Emirati artist Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim, a single work making up the entire exhibition of the National Pavilion UAE in Venice which is curated by Maya Allison. The work was accompanied by a monographic book titled Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim: Between Sunrise and Sunset / Works 1986-2022, which chronicles the artist’s work at the vanguard of the UAE’s art community for over nearly four decades.We are delighted to have the book’s co-editors Maya Allison, curator of the National Pavilion UAE 2022 exhibition and Executive Director of The New York University Abu Dhabi Art Gallery, and Cristiana de Marchi, artist, curator, and poet, in conversation with Hareth Al Bustani, Art & Culture Editor at The National, about this seminal artist and the putting together of this important publication.
