Authority and the Ark

As David prepared to move the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem, he met with Israel’s elders, planned a great parade, and gathered the people to witness the event. As the Ark was transported on a cart, a man named Uzzah was struck dead for touching the Ark. Why did God take this action and what does it teach us about God’s instructions?
