Autism and a mother's journey through art-Suzy Radonsky Kohout
from Imperfect Parenting · host Ariel and Mats Andersson/Suzy Radonsky Kohout
Last summer, Suzy and I started our conversation about her son's recent diagnosis of being on spectrum. She spoke to me about her family's journey and how finding out Paul was Autistic was both intense and a relief. The real journey happened in this past year as Suzy and her family muddled through red tape and discovery of programs and support along the way. At last, not only do they have some real resources coming through, but, as well, Suzy has found her way back to her art and an opening toward deeper understanding of self and the view through autism and her son's point of view. As well as finding humor through her dog's character, and grounding for herself. Her story is one of things aligning, power-full signs and magic that one can only hope for when working with such an intense path.Suzy shares her intimate truths and feelings and tips and tricks she has learned and continues to learn, as well as her high dream for all parents out there and her art opening in Alameda and her hopes for connecting other parents to their own experience, community and more.GO TO "THE ALAMEDA ARTWORKS"Mention "IMPERFECT PARENTING PODCAST" to SUZY when you visit her and GET A SMALL GIFT OF COLOR, while supplies last:).
