Autism and the Fine Arts

from Policy and Rights · host Michael Clogs

Autism Awareness and some of what it actually means about the wiring of the brain how to educate, and how to work with perspectives on efficacy. And a number of different things around people that have different abilities, and a different type of wiring to their brain so that they see things maybe a little bit differently, experienced things a little bit differently and one of the things that we're going to talk about in this particular segment is art. Art is the expression of what you see telling people how it makes you feel and how, what is happening in your environment around you, affects you. And it comes in many different forms there. We going to focus a little more on music, dance, the visual arts and poetry. No, we're talking about the written artworks in literature that there have been throughout history because of colonialism because of a whole bunch of other isms that may be out there that when the writer isn't a specific type doesn't have a specific look or specific way of thinking that he now become discounted. They'll say things to chip away at the reasonings for their art. Their reasons for that are writing. So poetry becomes really, really intense here. Something that we need to focus on is the visual arts we're talking about paintings, photography, and even movie-making. That is why should we discount a person's ability to do these sorts of things. Because it isn't the same as everybody else. That they're thinking isn't the same as everybody else. We want to discount things that don't look like we think they should win, we should open our minds and experience what is for being someone's point of view. And nothing should be discounted. We should all be able to voice our opinions and our points of view equally and the same. So let's talk about autism talent in music, art, dance, visual arts and poetry.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/policy-and-rights--3339563/support.
