Autism Awareness From the UN

from Policy and Rights · host Michael Clogs

What is autism Exactly? Is autism a different way of nature wiring the human brain so that new talents and a different set of talents can be introduced into our society? Is it something that we should look to assist people with? Is it something that we should maybe put in place for people in different classes, different, educate them differently so that they can learn to thrive? Well, maybe autism is actually all of those things. When we consider that it isn't something that should be eradicated and cured, there are those out there that would say that autism is something that should be cured, it should be eradicated and we should make sure that everybody's brain is wired the same exact way so that we all follow the same path. Folks with autism or Asperger's, or even ADHD, add something to our society that something big is actually needed. But it does come with the idea that there should be some differences in how we educate people that we should be educating people, maybe kind of towards how their brain is actually wired. Maybe we should not force a cookie-cutter type of educational people, maybe we should be able to allow a person at some point to pick choose and decide what it is they want to do or how they want to be educated. How we can create healthy people in our society, no matter what their neurodiversity could actually be. Because at some point, we all have neurodiversity. It's just what flavour it is and how does it actually work? We don't all learn the same way. We don't all interact the same way within society. When we all have different talents, it's so they should be cherished and developed, so that our society becomes stronger. And we can actually go back to achieving great things as human beingsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/policy-and-rights--3339563/support.
