Autobiography of Goethe Volume 2-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Journey with us into the life of Charlotte Atkyns, a remarkable English actress who was widowed early in life and found herself embroiled in the tumultuous French Revolution. Not just an observer, Atkyns actively sought to rescue the imprisoned former royal family of France. Introduced by Victorien Sardou of the French Academy, this intriguing story is set in its historical context, reflecting the language and ideas of its era. As Librivox does not censor its works, some content may offend certain listeners. (Summary by LynneT)
