AV on Health: Inequities in Healthcare

The Virginia Department of Health focuses on healthy people in healthy communities, with a vision of Virginia becoming the healthiest state in the nation. Along with major regional healthcare organizations, VDH recently conducted a Community Health Assessment covering Hampton, Poquoson, Newport News, James City County, York County and Williamsburg. Among their findings, healthcare inequities, especially in the areas of Covid-19 information and education, alcohol and substance abuse, mental health services, and overall health checkups. Experts discuss disparities and bring forth solutions in each of these areas.
