There is absolutely nothing scarier than saying goodbye. Saying goodbye to your family, your friends, and your hometown as you go off to chart your own path in the world. There is something so beautiful about it, and yet also so incredibly petrifying at the exact same time. You don't know what the future holds...and that's absolutely terrifying. You don't know when you'll be back at your old house, back in your old room, back in your home town, back to...it all. There's something so finite and yet uncertain about this farewell. It's like someone kidnapped you off the side of the street and said, "don't worry, we'll take you back". When? I think part of growing up is just realizing you don't have those answers. So what do you even DO then? How do you say goodbye to the people you love....without ever knowing...if that's ACTUALLY goodbye? That's an issue I spent far too long trying to solve...and without much tangible success. The only potential truth to the matter I found...is this film. This film, is about the one thing I found to hold on to. This film, is the reason I am no longer scared...of saying goodbye. I can only hope, no matter who you are, no matter where you're at in your life, that this films message about friends, family and relationships, helps you JUST as much as it helped me.
