Avila Shines as Royals Snap Losing Streak | Kansas City Royals News

Luinder Avila dazzled in his Royals debut, shutting down Philly’s star-studded lineup—including Trea Turner and Bryce Harper—with just one run allowed and four strikeouts. Despite a late Phillies run and a defensive miscue, Avila’s strong outing set the stage for a Royals rally fueled by RBIs from Thomas and Massey, a clutch sacrifice fly, and a two-run double from Salvador Perez. High-leverage relievers Lynch IV and Lange sealed the win, ending KC’s four-game skid. The Royals look to extend the series Monday as Noah Cameron faces Cristopher Sanchez at 1 PM Central.
