Avondale Police Increase School Zone Enforcement

Send us a text and chime in!As students return for the 2026-2027 school year, the Avondale Police Department is increasing enforcement in and around school zones to help keep students, parents, and staff safe. During the first several weeks of school, traffic officers will have an increased presence during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times, with patrol officers assisting as calls for service allow. Drivers are reminded to slow down, obey the 15 mph speed limit in school zones, stop for crossing guards and school buses, avoid distracted driving, and follow designated traffic patterns. Passing another vehicle in a school zone is prohibited.
