Send me a text!Length: 1 hour 34 minutesSynopsis: This evening (3/16/23), in our Thursday Night Pirkei Avos shiur, we learned a mishnah in Pirkei Avos which was much more oriented towards the practical than many other mishnayos we've learned. Part of what made this so practical is that it discussed behaviors that many of us engage in, such as sleeping in, hanging out with amei ha'aretz, and using TikTok (!). We learned through the approaches of several meforshim which we compared and contrasted to bring out the nuances, and we discussed how the ideas can apply to our lives.-----מקורות:אבות ג:ידרמב"םרבינו בחיירבינו יונהמאירירשב"ץספורנוSeneca, "On the Shortness of Life" -----The Torah content for the rest of Adar has been sponsored by my friend and chavrusa Zack, with the following dedicatory message: When asked, "Who is a leader you greatly admire?" my grandfather z”l immediately comes to mind. Each person who entered his presence was brought closer to a better version of themselves. This was due to his staunch belief in people and his uncompromising values. Knowledge is similar — it is indiscriminate and uncompromising in its power to help us become our best selves. Thank you Rabbi Schneeweiss for spreading knowledge, and may the memory of my grandfather, Naftali ben Tzvi, be a blessing.-----If you have questions, comments, or feedback, I would love to hear from you!
