Project Sunrise Qantas ordered 12 A350-1000s for Project Sunrise this week, but they’re no ordinary A350s. We detail how these aircraft will stand out from the rest of the fleet and we dig in to the other aircraft orders the airline placed this week. Spirit rebuffs JetBlue offer Spirit Airlines has turned down an offer from JetBlue to purchase the airline. Spirit will continue to pursue its merger agreement with Frontier Airlines. We discuss why Spirit is sticking with Frontier in the face of a seemingly much better offer from JetBlue and what may happen next. Tailwind wants to land where? Buried a route announcement to another destination, sea plane operator Tailwind said it intends to fly between New York and Washington DC. This was intriguing given the highly regulated airspace involved. The flight diverted safely to Birmingham, Alabama.
