Awaiting His Arrival - Ready for Jesus to Return*

The return of Jesus gives believers hope, urgency, and direction for how to live today. Looking at 2 Peter 3, Pastor Chris Teien explains why Christ’s promised return should shape our faith, repentance, witness, and priorities. Learn how communion reminds believers to remember Christ’s sacrifice, proclaim His death, and live ready until He comes. In This Message1. Remember That Christ Is Returning(1 Corinthians 11:23–26; Acts 1:8–11; 2 Peter 3:1–4)Communion reminds believers not only of Christ’s body and blood, but also that He will return. Peter encourages the church to remember God’s Word, hold on to hope, and remain faithful even when scoffers mock the promise of Christ’s coming.2. Realize That God Speaks and Change Happens(2 Peter 3:5–7; Genesis 1; Hebrews 1:3)God created the heavens and earth by His word, judged the ancient world by the flood, and will one day bring final judgment. The sermon emphasizes that God is in control of creation, history, and the future.3. Repentance Is What God Desires Before He Upgrades Our Existence(2 Peter 3:8–10; Matthew 24:14)The delay of Christ’s return is not forgetfulness, but patience. God is giving people time to repent, receive Christ, and be saved before the day of the Lord comes unexpectedly.4. Right Living Today Is Fitting for Our Future Life(2 Peter 3:11–15)Because this present world will not last forever, believers should live holy and godly lives while looking forward to the new heavens and new earth. The sermon calls Christians to hold loosely to temporary things and live faithfully for what has eternal value.5. Remain Ready for Christ to Return(Luke 12:35–40; Revelation 22:12)Jesus told His followers to live like servants waiting for their master’s return. The message concludes by urging believers to stay spiritually ready, share the hope of Christ, and live with expectation because Jesus could return at any time.18m0526der The Bold Secret to Unleashing your Faith Helping you apply God's Word and follow Jesus in everyday life.
