Awaken Hope with Trent Brock on Midlife Challenges

from Awaken Hope · host Kandiee Campbell

Trent Brock is 3X terminal cancer conqueror and international small business entrepreneur. Trent introduced, owned and operated a kettle corn manufacturing business in New Zealand over fourteen years. In early 2019, he was diagnosed with aggressive pelvic/hip cancer. The surgery left him disabled, with one leg shorter than the other (Doctors told him he would never walk again - he has been in a wheelchair/crutches for over five years). Then he got lung cancer and later pancreatic with a less than 5% chance to survive. Trent made drastic changes to his diet, exercise routine, and mental and spiritual outlook even though five specialists told him life was over and given a year to live.  In the Spring of 2021, he returned to the US to have cancer treatment from his now-home base in Bentonville, Arkansas. As of today, he is almost three years cancer-free! Trent is currently in the middle of a three-part journey-within-the-journey surgery, recently having the largest, most complex hip implant ever done in the world. He is a few months from walking.  Turning his pain into purpose, Trent is now an inspirational speaker, cancer journey/patient self-advocate ambassador, and best-selling author in "Breaking the Silence: Voices of Survivors Vol 1."  Website: www.trentbrockcoaching.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/trentbbrock Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/trent.brock.73 BIO: Originally from Louisiana, Trent Brock is an international small business entrepreneur who introduced, owned, and operated a successful kettle corn business in New Zealand for fourteen years. Trent is also a three-time terminal cancer conqueror. In 2019, hip cancer surgery left his left leg four inches shorter than his right, with doctors saying he would never walk again. In 2020, lung cancer and in 2021, pancreatic cancer with less than a 5% chance of survival. Five specialists told him he would not make it with one giving him a year to live, they advised him to return to the US for his final day with his family. Refusing to wait around to die, Trent decided he would not give up or literally die trying. He received life-saving treatment in the US and drastically changed his diet, exercise routine, mental and spiritual mindset. Now, Trent is over three years cancer-free! After nearly five years using a wheelchair and crutches, he was accepted as a patient into Mayo Clinic in 2023, undergoing four major hip surgeries totaling over forty hours. This culminated in the largest, most complex, fully customized hip implant ever done in the world, featuring groundbreaking procedures to be published in medical journals. Trent began walking in the fall of 2024 with the assistance of his “cool cane” and jokes that he is part-bionic with his “hip-of-the-future.” Throughout his treatments and recovery, Trent continued to work remotely on his kettle corn business in New Zealand. He completed the sale of his business in February 2024. With a new lease on life and time to spare, Trent became a certified speaker/coach, and patient advocate. He enjoys sharing his inspirational story on podcasts and stages, coaching people through obstacles, goals, or cancer/health journeys. For those who need assistance with the health system, Trent is a passionate patient advocate. And to top it off, he is a two-time best-selling author.

Understanding the ten commandments can be a good place to reflect on, as they were one of Israel's first introductions to learning how to relate to God and live in His way. Jesus also references the commandments in his sermon on the mount saying, “...whoever does them [the commandments] will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:19) Looking forward to exploring these with you!
