Awakening & The Shadow

There’s a process to awakening. First we must find the courage to look at the shadow within and around us, and the shadow is simply the parts that we don’t want to look at. The parts we deny, reject, abandon and hide away. But the shadow is the doorway, the portal, to our liberation and peace. Once we move through our shadow, all our fears, pain, wounding, and learn to love it all—learn to love every corner of ourselves—then we come back home to who we truly are. And who we truly are, by the way, has always been there. We just forgot. Just as who we are is and will always be whole, we just feel ‘unwhole’ because we sever parts of ourselves from ourselves. So awakening is not just about revealing the shadow, but about remembering who we truly are; which is incredibly powerful and totally magnificent. It goes beyond just being worthy, loveable and significant. It goes back to the very essence of who you are, which is an infinite, limitless being, made of love. Right now we are going through a collective awakening. Seeing the shadow within and around us, and boy, isn’t there a lot of it! Until we learn to include all parts of us, to stop denying and rejecting and fighting against ourselves creating an endless internal war, the world will reflect the same dynamic (as within so without) and history will repeat itself again and again. Because this is the school of life and we’re here to learn, grow and evolve. Stop hating parts of yourself. Stop hating others. Come back to love and you will find home again.
