"Awakening to the Light"

This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” What wakes you up in the morning? Is it a morning jog, spending time in your Bible, or a hot cup of coffee on the front porch? For some, the key to waking up is to open all thewindow blinds. Nothing wakes them up and fills their hearts with joy quite like the sun shining on their faces! Paul warned the Ephesians to not have anything to do with the works of darkness. People who live in the dark walk around as if half-asleep and do “fruitless deeds” (v. 11). If you have ever done something in secret that you wouldn't want others to know about, then you are very aware that there is no joy in living that way. God invites us into the light so we can live with joy. But we have to wakeup and choose to open the blinds of Ephesians 5:14.
