Award winning actress, director & producer – Gina Shmukler

This week on Womanity-Women in Unity, Dr. Amaleya Goneos-Malka talks to award winning South African actress, director and producer Gina Shmukler, whose work has spanned film, television and theatre; locally and internationally. We discuss some of the milestones in her career, driven in part by mentors who inspired her to succeed in different roles. We consider how personal values and the representation of women influence role choices. Her passion to keep developing her craft is honed through discipline with humility and an aspirational attitude towards her work which sees her pushing herself to constantly deliver more. Additionally, as an educator she nurtures students to be accountable, empowered and confident, with an understanding that they should view the Arts not just as a creative endeavour but as a business too.
