Darren Moffatt has many surprises up his sleeve. A modest and community minded man, he started his career as one of the youngest bank managers ever at 25 years old. This gave Darren his first direct experience of small businesses and the important role they play in local communities. He launched his first start up in 2006 and in 2009 was awarded ‘Broker of the Year’, and Seniors First remains today the largest reverse mortgage brokers in Australia. By 2012 he co founded a tech start-up ‘Facebook for Neighbours’ called Housenet. The social networking site was later awarded as one of the top 100 Innovations in Australia in the Smart 100 Index. Darren launched the ‘Nerds of Business’ podcast. This podcast has already attracted international industry media attention, and he has interviewed guests worth a combined $2.5 billion. Most recently, Nerds of Business was featured by Apple podcasts and reached #3 in the business podcast charts and a high of #57 of all Australian podcasts.
