Fox was a dual-threat catalyst, accounting for three touchdowns (two rushing, one passing), while running back Diore Hubbard contributed 108 rushing yards and a score.The game was tied 21-21 at the half, but West Virginia took control in the third quarter thanks to a massive momentum swing from their defense. The Mountaineers forced four Houston turnovers, which they cashed in for 17 crucial points. The biggest defensive play was an 80-yard pick-six by defensive back Jordan Scruggs late in the third, which extended the lead to 31-21 and effectively silenced the home crowd.Despite a valiant effort from Houston quarterback Conner Weigman, who threw four touchdowns, the Cougars' mistakes proved too costly, including two interceptions and a fumble.
