Awkward Transitions with Deborah Walker

It's Deb’s mountain and it's hard to imagine living life outside its awe-inspiring shadow⎯ without the backpacking, skiing, and outdoor life they enjoy in Washington state. Her birth in software engineering took her away from Mount Rainier in exchange for the exotic lands of China and the Philippines. In Singapore, Deb and her husband celebrated their 25th anniversary dining on Brazilian churrascaria.  Her adventures abroad have uniquely prepared Deb to work with people from diverse cultures. But the awkwardness, even here at home, is very real!  Good communication is essential. It's important to understand that not everyone is inside her head with her! People don't come with a help-manual. Unlike the world of software, there is no "help-desk" support. Twenty years after it all began, she’s letting life lead her to places unknown. Deb traded the anti-social world of software design for the people-oriented world of real estate. Being a realtor led her to take to the airwaves. For two years, she hosted the real estate program, Lockin' it In with Deb & Per on KLAY radio. Her new YouTube channel, Deb Did That, is an adventure story driven by her passion to discover, on a deeper level, what it’s like to be another person, to experience another's life and work, their joys and tears.
