Ayesha Chapter 9 - The Court of Kaloon

In which the weary travellers arrive at the grim and decaying court of Kaloon, where they are received amidst a dissolute and troubled nobility under the shadow of a jealous, mad Khan and his noble but sorrowful wife, the Khania Atene. Their days pass in captive tedium among the unfriendly populace and forbidding surroundings, while the tense undercurrents of jealousy, ancient bloodlines, and imminent disaster quietly gather about them.
