B.C. Food and Wine Radio: Sept 21, 2022

from BC Food and Wine Radio · host BC Food and Wine Radio

Anthony is in Lake Country this week, about 30 minutes north of Kelowna, speaking with the team behind O'Rourke Family Estate and sister winery Peak Cellars. We begin with Tanja Martell, Director of Communications, who fills us in on the two wineries, and some of the exciting changes taking place. Stephanie Stanley, winemaker for Peak Cellars, talks about riesling, pinot gris and gewurztraminer; Chef Jay Bennett, gives us an indication of the giant scope of food services that will be operating out of the new winery on Carr's Landing, and his approach to food, enjoyed at a very busy Peak Cellars' Garden Bistro. Dennis O'Rourke, owner and builder of both wineries, shares his vision and updates us on the massive undertaking of O'Rourke Estate Winery. Nikki Callaway, winemaker for O'Rourke Family Estate wines, brings her latest vintage of chardonnay and Anthony is impressed.
