B.C. nurses are escalating their job action around the province. We bring you the latest from the picket lines in Surrey and discuss the realities of being a nurse in the province. UBC Okanagan nursing professor Katrina Plamondon joined the program.CORRECTION: During a discussion regarding the nursing strike that was ongoing at the time, the host incorrectly stated that the wage for an entry level nurse in BC was currently 52 dollars per hour.In fact, according to the collective agreement of April 1st, 2024 the entry level wage for a Licensed Practical Nurse in B.C. is $32.84 per hour. The entry level wage for a Registered Nurse in B.C. is $41.42 per hour.
