B.O.M. - Episode 0032 - My Drummer

from Bums of Manarchy · host Eddie, Paddy & Rocky

Send us Fan MailAfter playing hooky for a week, the Bums return to action in epic fashion with talk of the eventual collapse of the NCAA franchise as we currently know it driven by the Almighty - the U.S. Dollar, before attention is paid to NFL pre-season football and the Chicago Bears (before Rocky’s head pops off — there is only so much college sports talk one Bum can endure), Bears injury concerns are offset with optimism around Justin F. Fields (with Matt Nagy playing it safe), the Big Easy is queasy at the thought of more hurricane damage (move to the high ground), and Chicago’s baseball hopes are tightly coupled to El Calcetín Blanco, Javy gets boo’d in Queens (yes, really), and finally, the plot thickens with Trevor Bauer’s assault allegations, as the tortured couple hit into a “double play”. On the bounce, another beer is showcased by the Bums, this time by way of a limited release Hazy Pale Ale named “Juicy Jorts” (ABV 6%) from Maplewood Brewing in Chicago, before the Bums sit cross-legged in a circle as Eddie hosts story time with a heartfelt homage to his hand slapping hero, Charlie Watts (pours one out), meanwhile Ed Asner is waiting in the wings for his wings, the Bums recall their baby-yacht excursion along Lake Michigan and the Chicago River, before the Bums bring it home to the rail-yard with an experiential recap of Chicago’s Banksy art exhibit. Recorded August 31st, 2021 B.O.M. southmost headquarters ‘Paddy’s Cave’ in Chicago, IL USA.
