Backstories For Untold Characters (Character Development Part 4)

In today's episode, author Michael Furlonger recaps on building an important character. Using Tolkien's Lord of the Rings series, Michael shares on how giving characters a back story helps to shape the world that an author is trying to create. Michael's example of a character is Tom Bombadil from Lord Of The Rings. Although a minor character in the books, he doesn't carry the story forwards, but his character does have a part to play in the broader scheme of "building" Middle Earth.
