Backstory to Revelation

from The Listener’s Commentary · host John Whittaker

Backstory to Revelation   John has been exiled to the island of Patmos because of his ministry for Jesus for serving and preaching. He had been living in Ephesus and overseeing several of the churches of western Asia Minor. The Christians within these churches are struggling to be faithful to Jesus as suspicion and hostility towards them increases.  While on Patmos, John receives a series of visions which he is instructed to write down and deliver to the churches of Asia. That becomes the book of Revelation and the message of Revelation is intended to strengthen the faith and faithfulness of the churches.   BIBLE READING GUIDE - FREE EBOOK - Get the free eBook, Bible in Life, to help you learn how to read and apply the Bible well: https://www.listenerscommentary.com     GIVE -  The Listener’s Commentary is a listener supported Bible teaching ministry made possible by the generosity of people like you.
