They are mentioned in Genesis 6:4, where it is said that they were the offspring of "the sons of God" and the "daughters of men".These unions resulted in powerful and famous individuals. The Nephilim are also mentioned in Numbers 13:32-33, where the Israelite spies describe seeing them in Canaan as being of great size.
