Bad Luck, Good Luck...

from L.I.V.E. Life Inspired Views for Everyday · host Kris Meyer

Send us Fan MailMaking mistakes feels pretty bad sometimes. One often wonders what good can come from them. I remember a big mistake I made many years ago. I was in a musical ensemble and another member urged me to share their opinion that the ensemble really was not sounding good at all. I did just that, even though it was not my own, and I ended up embarrassing and hurting the director terribly. I felt awful. So what good can come from something like that? Well, I learned two big things. One is that if someone feels strongly about something, it is their responsibility to act on it themselves. The other thing I learned was how to be honest and admit a mistake to someone else and sincerely ask for forgiveness. It granted me wisdom that I might not have gained without the dreadful experience. As Aretha Franklin says in the quote I have shared before, "The rough side of the mountain is the easiest to climb, the smooth side doesn't have anything to hold on to." Mistakes give us handles on the climb if we choose to see them that way. Thanks for listening.
